Yevpatoria merchant sea port is a state enterprise administered by the Ministry of Transport of the Ukraine.

The port can handle 800,000 tons of cargo per year.

Nowdays the port provides the cargo-passenger transfer to Turkey and back.

Sand quarrying out by port facilities in the Donuzlav cargo area is also handled.

The import-export Ferry Complex can accommodate Ro-Ro vessels and handle up to 10,000 extra-heavy trucks annually. In 1999, it transferred 2,799 extra-heavy trucks. In former years, local passanger conveyance flow reached 2.8 million people per year.

Nowadays, passenger coonveyance requirement is down to approx. 70,000 people.


Port Yevpatoria territory covers an area of 6.6 ha., along with 1.9 ha in the cargo area of Donuzlav. The total length of berthing line is 938.7 m. The length of passenger berthing line is 438 m. Thus, the port comprises two cargo area: a cargo-passenger complex in Yevpatoria, and Donuzlav cargo area. The cargo-passenger complex accommodates ferryboats of Ro-Ro type and passenger vessels; and has a TIR truck parking lot.

In the Donuzlav cargo area they transfer sand recovered in Lake Donuzlav by means of refilling barges.

Prospected sand reserves are estimated at up to 8 million cu.m. Ther is not railway siding. The nearest railway station is 4 km from the port.
