Yalta Merchant Sea port
Address Yalta Merchant Sea Port is the cruise gate of the Crimea. The port became a member of the International Association of Cruise Ports of the Mediterranean Sea (MEDCRUISE). It services foreign cruise ships. Besides, the port provides passenger transportation between localities of the Crimean Southern Coast, and cargoes handling. |

The port receives cruise vessels both at its berths, and at the roads. The ports’s modern cargo handling complex was put into operation in 1986 in Massandra. This complex can handle up to 2 million tons of cargo per year. In the days of the USSR, the port’s fleet of recreational vessels carried up to 6 million passengers per year. At present, they can still carry up to 1.5 million passengers per year. |

The Port Yalta comprises: a passenger terminal area, which is situated on the city centre’s coastline (5.51 ha); a cargo-passenger area, situated one mile eastwards of the city centre (Massandra district) (3.34 ha); and a number of other port points. The passenger terminal berthage can handle ships up to 215 m in length (up to 240 m in good wether) and with draft up to 8.6 m. For passengers arriving on larger vessels, special port shuttle boat service is provided. The port’s cargo-passenger area has a berth equipped with cranes that have lifting capacities of 10–20 tns; and a berth for RO-RO type vessels and aft ramp ferryboats of draft up to 6 m. The other port points and berths: Foros, Simeiz, Alupka, Miskhor, Lastochkino Gnyezdo, Zolotoy Plyazh, Livadiya, Inturist, Donbass, Moris Torez, Nikitskiy Botanicheskiy Sud, Gurzuf, Frunzenskoye, Rabochiy Ugolok, Alushta, Malorechenskoye, Rybachye, Morskoye, Sudak all serve for passenger handling by means of port auxiliary service fleet. The total area of open cargo storage space is 15,000 sq. m. |
